Review for Skinfood Peach Sake Pore BB Cream SPF20PA+ #2
Shade: It looks ridiculously peachy orange but smells really good, as how all skinfood bb creams does.
Look: It goes on incredibly sheer & Matte. That's why the shade could pass off for almost any skin tones. I doubt #1 would have been really different given the sheerness.
Oil Control: The oil control isn't good. I'll give it a 5/10. I did top it with my usual Chacott loose powder before I left the house in the morning. It still didn't last and turned rather oily by noon. I blotted off the grease gently and what's left was a rather naked canvas since there wasn't even much coverage to speak of in the 1st place. I find my makeup almost gone by the evening, after a day in the office.
Remarks: I regret the S$18.70 I spent on this. I might as well have bought another tube of Gingko Green BB Cream w/o SPF and oil control. At least setting it with chacott and grape makeup fixer would do the trick. However, I might use it if I am having a good skin day and wanna do the no-makeup look.
Review for Dr. Jart+ Detox Healing Blemish Base Black Label SPF25PA++
Shade: A little gray. But blends in well with my NC30 skin color after . It's actually darker than Silver Label by 1 or 2 shades.
Look: A little dewy. It's not matte. Suppose it's due to it being a moisturising formula.
Oil Control: Not too good since it's meant to be moisturising. But chacott loose powder can set this in and i blot twice gently in the afternoon.
Remarks: Coverage is medium. Might look a little dull but it's a all-in-one fuss free product that i turn to on mornings when I'm lazy to pick a bb cream.
Bobbi Brown concealers
Due to the very busy work, countless emails to read, unlimited promotional copy to write, creative brief to work on and the many thousand words essays, i am looking really tired nowadays. I found out from reviews that the cle de peau concealer works like a charm. So i went to the counter to test it out despite the $116 price tag, only to find it cakey and drying, accentuating my lines even more.
Then i remembered bobbi brown makes great foundation and face stuffs. So i thought I'll give it a try. the makeup girl was nice....she tested it on my undereye and suggested both the corrector and creamy concealer kit. The results was quite full to camouflage dark circles rather than concealing or lighten them, so i bought them both. $41 for the corrector and $57 for the creamy concealer kit. It was a really impulsive purchase. However, I like the gel eyeliner enough to give this a go.
I have not tried using it yet, but i do have some bobbi brown brushes lying around which i could use with these creamy stuffs.

I'm really bored and don't have the mood to study. So i opened the Peach Sake bb cream to smell it, and it led to this post!
Some comparisons of the shades of bb cream. Pix taken under natural light with flash, closest possible to the real life colors.
Will expand on this post when i'm done with my paper tomorrow.
Back to review more stuffs soon

After disappearing for more than 9 mths, i'm back to update bb cream reviews.
There is a beautiful Etude House store at Sungei Wang basement (new extension), where the one of the external walls is decorated by a huge wall sticker of the spokesperson (leading male for korean F4 drama). I didn't bring my camera that day, so didn't manage to capture a shot of the princessy, dreamy decor. I resisted getting the bb creams. Instead, I got the makeup sponge w/ casing, blush contour brush, lip brush and a eyebrow pencil sharpener. Stuffs are definitely cheaper than SG though the difference isn't huge. The brushes are okay, not as soft of everyday minerals or sasa's. But i read that it's quite good, so i got it anyway to try.
BB creams. Missha is not as popular as Skinfood, The Face Shop and Elianto in Msia. I only saw 1 outlet at a quiet corner of BB plaza despite visiting many malls in Msia. Skinfood and The Face Shop are almost in every mall.
I picked up Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF42++ 30ml in shade 23 at RM58.30 after 20% off and it came with a FREE Sunblock spray SPF27++ (produced in 2007). It cost about S$24.30 after conversion. Not exactly cheap considering it's only 30ml. Singapore outlets sell the pump tube 50ml version at S$45.90 and i refuse to get it cos it's so overpriced. I didn't see Missha Watery BB Cream there. The rest of the BB cream range was available. Shade 21 is quite fair for me and would suit a NC15/NC20 to a fair NC25. I am NC25-NC30.
I read many raves for this bb cream as it promises med to full coverage, SPF42++ and most of all, really good oil control. I have not tested it yet. But i think i would have to use it soon, as the product doesn't come sealed with foil.
Another good shopping place in Msia is Skinfood because of the good ringgit rates. I bought my first bb cream, Gingko Green BB Cream from skinfood in SG. It has poor oil control, no SPF and cost me a whopping $31.90. But that was like more than 2 yrs ago, couple of mths before i went to BKK. The 2nd and last product i bought was the White Grape Makeup Fixer which is a great oil control product. I got the rest of truckload of skinfood products from sungei wang skinfood store. After spending RM200-300 from the past trips there, I decided their skincare products doesn't work for me. They just smell really good.
This time round, i was surprised there is a new BB cream launched. Not available in SG stores yet (as usual) and even if it is, would again be ridiculously overpriced.
I bought the new Peach Sake Pore BB Cream SPF20++. It was at a pretty good price, RM44.90 for 30ml. That converts to about S$18.70 for a tube. I'm sure SG will sell this for S$30+ when it reaches the local outlets. Not sure how this fare as I can't find reviews for this online. Only found 1 review so far and the lady says this product SUCKS big time despite pairing it with other base or fixers. Nothing works. *Crosses fingers*
To-date, i managed to complete only 2 tubes of bb creams. Dr. G Hydra Intensive BB Cream SPF30++ 60ml and Coogi Flowertox 3action Super BB Cream SPF25++ 30ml. Dr G has thick coverage and good oil control, despite a grayish cast upon application. But bearing in mind I look like death in the mornings, I need the extra coverage to look decent, so i reach out for it pretty often.
BB creams come in only 1, 2 or at most 3 shades. But the one and only 1 tube in my stash is Coogi Flowertox which is a perfect shade match to my skintone. This is also the only base product i ever used which bf couldn't tell i've worn makeup. So this is definitely a keeper! I didn't get this in KL, but I bought this online last week when I realise my 30ml tube was running out. Costs only S$29 for 50ml. I got the previous tube at $18 for 30ml when yahoo auctions wasn't killed off yet. This is only avail. in Korea.
Paul & Joe and Gransenbon
I got the Paul & Joe Loose Powder in #02 Vanille and Pressed Powder in #02 Vanille from an online seller who bought it at the earlier prestige sales. Prestige Products Distribution is the company selling Givenchy, Loewe parfums and Paul & Joe cosmetics in SG. They held a warehouse sales during end Nov and I missed it. Glad i got it cheap online - loose powder at $35 and pressed powder at $25. I think it was going for $23 for loose powder and even cheaper for the pressed powder at the sales. But counter price for loose powder is $77.
This is the older version of the loose powder. the newer version has an 'N' after the product name. But I think the shade should be the same. The pressed powder is a translucent shade, with obvious fine shimmers. very nice, but wonder if it will make me look like a glitter ball if i use it all over my face for touch-ups.
The casings come in a very romantic nude shade, with the brand's signature chrysanthemum motifs embossed onto the iridescent plastic. It feels very "solid" but they're not heavy. Tthese 2 are my 3rd and 4th Paul & Joe items. My first 2 are birthday gifts from 2 different buddies on 2 different yrs. What's funny is, they don't know each other but they bought me the SAME lip gloss in the exact SAME shade.
I got my 2nd pc of gransenbon blush in blossom pink #7 from watsons. It's a discontinued shade in Japan. Once it's sold out in SG, it will never be replenished. So, get it while you can...
My first pc was bought from an online seller, who got it from Japan. So i was quite lucky to have owned it. So what happened to the first pc? My sis looked really pretty in it, so i gave mine to her.
Blossom Pink #7 - it's a really pretty pressed pink blush with gold shimmers. Shimmers are quite obvious, so some find it a tad too shimmery and unsuitable for skin with big pores.
Mom says I've got only 1 face but way too much cosmetics.
Shiseido Sales
The sale was madness. I queued for an hour plus, 1-2pm+ and left at 3pm. The selection of maquillage eyeshadow palettes was good. about 6-7 palettes were on sale. As for ettusais, they were all old products, but expiry was like 2011 or 2012, so it was okay. I bought a few items only, which actually was because i didn't want to leave empty handed since i queued for soo long!
I got the maquillage Shiny Design Powder at $20, Ettuisais lip essence at $10, Night Protect Powder set at $10 and the refill at $8.
However, i look forward to next yr's shiseido's sales and I intend to take leave to chiong to the sales. :)
Benefit Sale
I went to the Benefit Sale at Marriott Hotel but nothing much was left. This is one of the worst sales i ever been to. I could count the no. of products available on the tables.
It's very orderly though. Went home with 1 lipstick!
I bought Watson's Bird's Nest Masks, it was the last box at Causeway Pt's watson's. $9.95 for 6 masks, with 30ml of essence in each sachet. =)
Gransenbon in SG

Wow! This is real good news. Gransenbon finally launched in SG yesterday at Watsons, Ngee Ann City. It's selling at $29.90 each. Only 8 shades are available, including the discontinued #7.
Check out Rougedeluxe's latest post!
I personally own 2 of gransenbon blushers, both of which are discontinued in Japan already. #7 Blossom Pink and #8 Pretty Orange. Wonderful pigment, beautiful shimmers = great blusher. This blusher comes in a compact case with mirror and a brush compartment. The brush it comes with is ultra soft and of good quality.

Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Petticoat
MAC Petticoat: Pale rose with gold and amber veining
This much desired petticoat which i paid a hefty price for through ebay. The veinings are extremely beautiful, you can actually see the gold veining at the right hand side.
I've been lusting after this Mac MSF for 2 yrs and counting. Finally when MAC decided to re-promote this under the Sheer Minerals collection, they also announced that due to the limited pieces available, this MSF shade will not make it to asia shores. Hence I bought it off ebay from a US seller.
BB Creams Review #2 - Dr. G
Hi, i've gone on a trip to HK few mths ago and came back with the much discussed Dr. G Hydra Intensive Blemish Balm SPF 30 PA++. It costs HK$232 which coverts to about SGD$40 or so. They actually have another bb cream called Brightening Balm SPF 30 PA++. I don't know what's the difference between the both of them but i reckon one is highly moisturising and the other has got some face brightening formula as it states on the packaging that it contains arbutin. However, both ingredients labels are identical. So I kind of suspect they are the same thing, perhaps hydra intensive is the older version and brightening balm is the newer version or vice versa. I'm not sure. However, i read some reviews online that the brightening balm is much preferred for it's brightening properties compared to hydra intensive. Does that mean they are not the same thing afterall? Tell me if you've tried it.
I bought my bottle of brightening balm from sasa for $43. Reasonable, considering the price of the other Dr G bb cream i got from HK. But i won't be opening it up any time soon since i have some 10 bottles lying in my cabinet.
Review for Dr. G Hydra Intensive Blemish Balm SPF 30 PA++
Shade: It's a little too grayish. For girls like me who belong to the more yellowish skin tone finds it a little of a mis-match. Luckily, it's minor and blends in well after a while.
Look: It's not really matte, not dewy either. It's a little thicker than the other bb creams, coverage is somewhat like scandal and dodo club.
Oil Control: Oil control is fantastic. It's not drying either. Sometimes i skip the use of my biore UV face coz i don't need the oil control for this bb cream. Finishing it off with powder or not
Remarks: The consistency is extremely creamy, like chocolate ice cream. it's extremely easy to blend and spread. Because of the medium coverage, i don't even need much product. This comes in a 60ml tube, pretty big for a bb cream.
