After disappearing for more than 9 mths, i'm back to update bb cream reviews.
There is a beautiful Etude House store at Sungei Wang basement (new extension), where the one of the external walls is decorated by a huge wall sticker of the spokesperson (leading male for korean F4 drama). I didn't bring my camera that day, so didn't manage to capture a shot of the princessy, dreamy decor. I resisted getting the bb creams. Instead, I got the makeup sponge w/ casing, blush contour brush, lip brush and a eyebrow pencil sharpener. Stuffs are definitely cheaper than SG though the difference isn't huge. The brushes are okay, not as soft of everyday minerals or sasa's. But i read that it's quite good, so i got it anyway to try.
BB creams. Missha is not as popular as Skinfood, The Face Shop and Elianto in Msia. I only saw 1 outlet at a quiet corner of BB plaza despite visiting many malls in Msia. Skinfood and The Face Shop are almost in every mall.
I picked up Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF42++ 30ml in shade 23 at RM58.30 after 20% off and it came with a FREE Sunblock spray SPF27++ (produced in 2007). It cost about S$24.30 after conversion. Not exactly cheap considering it's only 30ml. Singapore outlets sell the pump tube 50ml version at S$45.90 and i refuse to get it cos it's so overpriced. I didn't see Missha Watery BB Cream there. The rest of the BB cream range was available. Shade 21 is quite fair for me and would suit a NC15/NC20 to a fair NC25. I am NC25-NC30.
I read many raves for this bb cream as it promises med to full coverage, SPF42++ and most of all, really good oil control. I have not tested it yet. But i think i would have to use it soon, as the product doesn't come sealed with foil.
Another good shopping place in Msia is Skinfood because of the good ringgit rates. I bought my first bb cream, Gingko Green BB Cream from skinfood in SG. It has poor oil control, no SPF and cost me a whopping $31.90. But that was like more than 2 yrs ago, couple of mths before i went to BKK. The 2nd and last product i bought was the White Grape Makeup Fixer which is a great oil control product. I got the rest of truckload of skinfood products from sungei wang skinfood store. After spending RM200-300 from the past trips there, I decided their skincare products doesn't work for me. They just smell really good.
This time round, i was surprised there is a new BB cream launched. Not available in SG stores yet (as usual) and even if it is, would again be ridiculously overpriced.
I bought the new Peach Sake Pore BB Cream SPF20++. It was at a pretty good price, RM44.90 for 30ml. That converts to about S$18.70 for a tube. I'm sure SG will sell this for S$30+ when it reaches the local outlets. Not sure how this fare as I can't find reviews for this online. Only found 1 review so far and the lady says this product SUCKS big time despite pairing it with other base or fixers. Nothing works. *Crosses fingers*
To-date, i managed to complete only 2 tubes of bb creams. Dr. G Hydra Intensive BB Cream SPF30++ 60ml and Coogi Flowertox 3action Super BB Cream SPF25++ 30ml. Dr G has thick coverage and good oil control, despite a grayish cast upon application. But bearing in mind I look like death in the mornings, I need the extra coverage to look decent, so i reach out for it pretty often.
BB creams come in only 1, 2 or at most 3 shades. But the one and only 1 tube in my stash is Coogi Flowertox which is a perfect shade match to my skintone. This is also the only base product i ever used which bf couldn't tell i've worn makeup. So this is definitely a keeper! I didn't get this in KL, but I bought this online last week when I realise my 30ml tube was running out. Costs only S$29 for 50ml. I got the previous tube at $18 for 30ml when yahoo auctions wasn't killed off yet. This is only avail. in Korea.
